People have been wanting an update on AirGPU since we dropped the Before You Buy video on the platform. If you don’t know what AirGPU is, they are a Cloud PC rental company that supports Amazon Web Services virtual machines. Learn everything about AirGPU here.
New Locations
AirGPU has just added three more data center locations for North America. New York, Chicago and Las Vegas have all been added to the location drop down in the create-a-machine page.
New RTX Machines
These data centers offer brand new machines equipped with Nvidia RTX series GPUs starting at $0.65/h for on-demand use (no spare capacity!). With these new machines you can also stream in up to 4K resolution with no extra charges.
Yes, these new machines are much cheaper and the performance is stellar. The RTX series machines feature the RTX 4000 (last generation Turning card) and the new RTX A4000 (Ampere grade card) GPUs.
The new machines are also equipped with NVMe SSDs for improved load times and are usually twice as fast compared to the other machines. These machines are available in limited quantity with Windows 10 pre-installed but you’ll have bring your own license, unfortunately. We didn’t have to use a license when we loaded the machine though so maybe you will get lucky.
We’ll have a benchmark video on both tiers and a comparison video with the A4000 tier with another similar platform so stay tuned for that. If you are close enough to check out those new locations and machines, don’t forget to use our code to get 10%.
