Paperspace is cloud computing company that provides cloud-based development tools and environments ranging from single users to enterprise sized companies. We’ll be focusing on the gaming portion of Paperspace in which they offer cloud PC rentals similar to Maximum Settings and AirGPU at an hourly rate.
We’ll go into the details on how to get setup and get started with Paperspace on the Android.
Getting Started
Before we get started, we’re going to assume you’ve already set up your Paperspace. If you need a walkthrough for that, check out our getting started guide for setting up your Paperspace machine.
Installing Parsec
If your Paperspace machine is already set up, you can do everything else directly from your Android device. You’ll need to install the Parsec App, the same app you used to connect to your Paperspace machine on the desktop. It is easy to find on the Google Play Store. Once it’s installed, load it up and log in. You might have to verify this new device by email.
Starting your Machine
If you haven’t started your Paperspace machine yet, you won’t be able to logon to your Paperspace machine on Parsec until its running. Use your browser to login to your Paperspace account and start your machine. This can take a few minutes.
I also recommend connecting a Bluetooth gamepad to play any games, as most PC games are not made to be played using touch screen controls.
Playing a Game on Android
Once your Paperspace machine has started, the PC will appear within your Parsec App. You can connect at this time. I recommend using your Paperspace machine in landscape mode.
Once Parsec has connected, log into your third-party platform of choice, install (if you haven’t already done so) and load up your game.
Parsec has a keyboard shortcut for typing and entering your credentials. Your Bluetooth controller or Mouse and Keyboard should be working through parsec as well.
Shutting Down your Machine
When you are finished playing, disconnect from Parsec using the icon overlay. Also, remember to turn off your Paperspace machine in the browser or they will continue to charge you for service.
